Going for Victory.




 It was a busy but productive week. I must admit that sometimes it is hard to limit calories in colder weather – especially around the holidays. Comfort food is so perfect for cold weather – we’re all wearing lots of layers so no one is really thinking about their waistlines right? Eh wrong! I am definitely thinking about it. My goal for the month is to break even. I am not endeavoring to lose weight during the biggest food fest month of the year! That would be too much pressure. So instead, I am taking some good advice from those much wiser than I and I’m striving to break-even. If I leave the month without gaining, I will consider it a great victory.

 I don’t believe there has ever been a December that I haven’t gained lots of weight. How many millions of people in the U.S. can make the same statement? That’s a fact. I think most Americans can expect to gain 10lbs from Thanksgiving to New Years. That’s statistical (depending on which survey you quote). But 5, 7, 10, 12 does it matter – it’s still lots of pounds in a short time. I’m not going to repeat the patterns of the past. It’s a new day – a glorious new day and I’m smiling from ear to ear with joy and expectation of a wonderful and totally amazing 2015 – which I plan on leaving another 70-100lbs lighter than I am right now! Feel free to quote me!!!
