I’m changing
Seafood Day this week to Saturday. I’m having dinner out with friends (seafood)
so it just makes sense to switch. I’m not at the place where I can do two Seafood days a week, not yet anyway. So Saturday it is.
Mid-week
walking club miles were posted yesterday – Team Spain still in 3rd
place behind Italy and Germany. We’re 230 miles out of 1st, Germany
has a nearly insurmountable lead. Every
member of my team would have to increase weekly walking by 10 miles, and
Germany would have to slow down. There roster is just too strong for that so I
think our objective now is to stay out of 4th place (which doesn’t
seem that difficult a task since France is 150 miles behind us!) And perhaps even
scoot into 2nd place (that’s possible as of right now, but may not
stay that way for long – so we gotta step it up). I’m still competitive though,
even when I see the odds – we gotta keep pushing because fact is, anything can
happen. Someone from Germany can drop out, or someone from our team can become
a marathon runner etc. I’m hopelessly optimistic. The point is we gotta always
be pushing forward as hard as possible – if not for the win – then for the
satisfaction and accomplishment. That’s good enough.
P.S. I’m supposed to go to a soft ball game tonight –
hopefully the weather holds. It’s been overcast since early this morning but no
rain in the forecast… we’ll see.

P.S. Game was great fun! Perfect weather - mid 70s, low humidity and slight breeze. Nice.
