The Best Laid Plans...



So today's plan is to get a little work done, run a couple errands, meet friends for an early dinner (birthday celebration) then off to a concert. We'll see how the day goes. I don't really like running around in the rain. But I'll get it all done no matter what.

Meanwhile, I'll post tracker either tonight or tomorrow. But since I'm going out tonight I'm going to post my 'restaurant goals' as a reminder:

     13. Eating out – 2 times per week maximum (includes lunch)
     14. Alcoholic beverages: 2 large or 3 small once per week maximum 
     15. Eating Out: No fried foods, bread/rolls, appetizers (other than salad)

And so here is my 'restaurant plan'. They make a fabulous skirt steak, just delicious. I will start with a drink (vodka with seltzer, a splash of pineapple juice and a couple cherries). I'll ask for a vegetable platter or salad as appetizer and for dinner I'll ask for a double vegetable instead of a carbohydrate. Now the challenge is to carry out the plan. I'll keep you posted.

FYI I don't mind a difficult challenge, it allows me to be creative when unsuccessful. The restaurant goals will absolutely require creativity on occassion including this type of exercise prior to going out. Eventually it will be a habit...

P.S. At the beginning of each month I take 2 pictures of myself (similar surroundings and clothing) to keep in the 'before and after' folder. Today I took out the February 1st and August 1st photos and had each one on a different computer screen so I could do a side by side comparison and for the first time I genuinely see a little difference. I did an extreme close up comparison and there is no question, my body is now looking a little smaller. For the longest time it was just my face and neck - but now it's the body. So nice to see. 

With September weigh-in results I will post the first true 'before and after pictures' of the journey. Yay! So exciting.

So I enjoyed the day and evening very much. We wanted to see Tony Orlando in Eisenhower Park - but changed our mind because of weather. Instead we went to play miniature golf. Fun, fun, fun. Great night. Overdid the calories a bit - my new goal... get daily average to 1700.
