No Show




Today was a really nice day. I got to church very early for training on the A/V team. Very interesting - I'm always happy to learn new things. I had in mind to go to a party this afternoon but at the last minute I changed my mind because Derek Jeter was playing his last game as a NY Yankee against the Red Sox no less and I really didn't want to miss it - so I was a No-Show and instead invited some friends over for a truly memorable game. Bernie Williams, a former Yankee and good friend of Dereks showed up to play a classical guitar version of Take Me Out To The Ballgame - and what was super nice about it was when the crowd chimed in for the chorus - even made Derek smile. It was a great game, Yanks won 9-5. Derek ended his career after a single line drive to third base. The Red Sox started the day with a tribute to him so what does that tell you about the character and heart of this 20 year Yankee veteran. It speaks volumes because he is a sincerely nice man that is well liked throughout the league. Always a gentlemen as my friend Eva said this morning (she herself being a Met Fan). It was a great game and a touching tribute to a gentlemen of baseball and I'm so glad I didn't miss it and even happier that I got to enjoy it with friends. :)

As for calories, much better today - happy to say. I got some strength training in and will probably get to the gym tomorrow evening. I think this month is off to a good start. Meanwhile...
