Nutritional Dividends



What a difference a day makes. Beautiful! I started my weekend early so I could run some errands. It was a great day to do it because of the Jewish holiday - traffic was minimal and I was able to get around very easily - which sort of makes up for yesterday's cabin fever.

At any rate, I'm well within calorie goal today. And just a quick note about an important change this month.. Smoothies -- what a great addition to the tracker. I'm so pleased with the added (and much needed) daily nutrition but I'm equally pleased with its value as an evening snack replacement. Nights when I go to the gym I can add some almonds or walnuts to the blend for protein! Overall a significant decision that will pay dividends for a long time to come.

So the weekend is upon us and it will be a busy one. I'm making dinner for friends tomorrow and I have a party Sunday afternoon. I will definitely do some stretching and meditation tomorrow morning (at least 20 minutes). I will not get to the gym at all this weekend but I hope to do some walking tomorrow evening at the park after dinner (that's the plan...) So that'll be good - and then Sunday I'll be dancing a little as well. Now, even though I have these 2 parties I will not be ridiculous with calories. I will limit my alcohol consumption on Sunday to 3 drinks and that's with seltzer (and a splash of juice) so no real calorie concern. And I'm only serving wine tomorrow - which I don't drink, so again no calorie concerns there. Food at the Sunday party isn't an issue (tomorrow night is a different story - but I'll be on guard). Meanwhile...
