Revelation






It was a great day weather wise. I met friends for some shopping in the afternoon then stopped over to pick up another friend and while at her place I grabbed a dunkin donut chocolate glazed (and then ½ of another one). I was super hungry and so bam – sugar and carbs – yikes!!! Not a great lunch. I’m glad to be within calorie goal but not glad about my lunch choice – I should have ran to Panera or planned ahead by bringing a PB&J sandwich. But alas I don’t spend more than 10 seconds feeling bad about my choices, I just keep looking forward. I can give you this bit of positive news, my legs are getting notably stronger. At the mall yesterday I was climbing stairs (just a few) without holding on to the railing (up and down). A friend of mine noticed it and pointed it out to me. I have been really focusing on leg strength these past few weeks and even at home I’ve noticed it getting easier to climb stairs. I’m excited about that. I love when I work at something consistently with all my heart and then one day out of the blue I just notice the changes. That’s what will happen with the weight loss journey – I’ll plug away month in and month out and one day I’ll look at myself in the mirror – and I’ll see a different person. Or someone I haven’t seen for a long time will bump into me and make a comment. But those are the defining moments and I love them. I know I’ve lost a lot of weight, I see it on the scale, but truthfully, when you’re as heavy as I am (and was), you really have to lose quite a bit before it makes a noticeable difference. For me, I think I’ll have to be closer to 250lbs before I can genuinely say I really feel smaller. But to quote my best friend, “that’s the way it should be”.  I agree. Meanwhile,
