Two Steps Forward, One Step Back


The weather yesterday and today is gorgeous on Long Island. No humidity, low 80s. Just as beautiful as you can imagine. Hopefully it will stick around for a few more days. I did have a couple mixed drinks last night so I increased my daily calories for yesterday by 300 – which drives up my average to 1782.

The culprit: juice..... when I order a mixed drink I always ask for diet ginger ale (or anything diet other than cola) but bars & restaurants only seem to offer cola. I guess it’s most popular. I'm not a soda drinker at all, never have been. But diet soda is low in calories compared to juice which is why I prefer it in drinks. But when it’s not available I compromise and have ½ juice ½ seltzer. Still more calories than I want, but better than all juice. Thankfully I don’t drink alcohol that often so this really isn't an issue for me. Oh, and I had a really nice time last night so to me that’s what matters.


Otherwise all is well on the journey. My calories were reasonably low today which is why the average didn’t take such a big hit. All in all, I’m happy!
