A Good Loss








It’s a lovely spring day on Long Island – and my heart is warmed by a 9lb weight loss! I made some significant changes to my diet during the last month that have a positive impact on my overall health by design, and now it’s provided a nice increase in weight loss. As of  now I’m not going to change my calorie goal because I’ve added cardio and strength training so I want to see another weigh-in result before I tweak any further.  Meanwhile – using 8.5 as the denominator – in 6 months that’s 51lbs- I CAN LIVE WITH THAT! Forgive the ‘selfie’ effect but it was last minute and honestly I wouldn’t look much different if someone else took it. J


Okay, back to the business at hand. Next weigh-in:  June 4th.


 

Goal Update for May-June :


  1. Meatless Mondays – I will eat no meat on Monday’s
  2. Meatless Fridays – I will eat no meat on Friday’s
  3. 1700 calorie goal will remain for now. I’m comfortable hovering between 1600-1700.
  4. Sunday will be Paleo Day – that means no breads, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes, etc.
  5. Two vegetables at dinner instead of one
  6. Swimming laps 2x a week
  7. Weight training – 2x per week leg and back training and 1x week arms / shoulders


 Please note when reviewing below that I changed my daily calorie goal from 1800 to 1700 on 4/23.  At first it was a bit of a struggle, but I’m now totally comfortable with it and I actually tend to hover somewhere in the 1600s (which might change now that I’m exercising more).
